Tramping New Zealand

I am going to let the pictures tell the tale, when I can upload them, but I am back from tramping the south island of New Zealand and the one word that comes to mind is spectacular. Other words that sprung into my head over the last eleven days also include, wow, awesome, amazing, intermingled with a few choice phrases like, ow my back hurts, who was snoring last night, we are walking UP hill again, did you say we are walking up a river and the like :-) What an amazing way to see New Zealand, I have camped, I have done 3 two day hikes either staying in a very well serviced hut or camping, including carrying all the gear required to camp, I have hiked a river, I have explored water caves, I have swam in glacial streams, drunk water from glacial streams and tarns, eaten from the ground, picniced on the beach, seen penguins, seals, sea lions, dolphins, I have kayaked in Milford Sound, and I have walked many a kilometre, both up and down and spent 11 glorious days with 11 fabulous people. I look forward to sharing the photos with you.

Sounds like a spectacular start to your New Year Pip.
Look forward to those photos (as ever).
Trust you are sampling the South Islands finest Montana wines from Marleborough?

Take care
